Team Taps Artistic Side to Raise Money for Cancer Walk

Duke Cancer Center Raleigh embraced the skills of the team members to raise money and awareness in the fight against lung cancer in a unique way. The team hosted a Virtual Art Gala Fundraiser on Friday, September 3 featuring several works of art from members of the Duke Raleigh Hospital team. All donated pieces were auctioned off, raising a total of $2,220 for Team Duke PNEUMO-Uno in the Lung Cancer Initative of North Carolina’s 15th annual Triangle LUNGe Forward 2 Mile Walk & Celebration.

Jessica Beck, a thoracic nurse navigator at Duke Cancer Center Raleigh also donated to the virtual auction, including a sweater she crocheted. “I find joy in making and giving something to others as a way to show how much I care for them,” Beck shared.
